If you rent out equipment, vehicles or venues, your week is made of the same three questions: is this item free on those dates, what did it leave with, and what came back. DoliLocation (technical name ksilocation) answers them inside Dolibarr — not next to it. Version 1.0.1 brings 166 files, 94 of them in PHP, 45 screens, 30 tables, 10 permissions and 725 translation keys per language, in 5 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian). Your trade is already configured: 10 presets

You do not start from an empty form. Choose one of the 10 preset trades and the module arrives set up for the way that trade actually works: construction plant and site equipment, events and hospitality, vehicles, audiovisual, sound and lighting, light mobility (bicycles, scooters), venues and spaces, trailers and light commercial vehicles, medical and paramedical equipment, IT and office equipment, linen, tableware and light catering.

Stop double-booking, stop losing a day of rent

Availability is computed on half-open intervals: a return in the morning and a departure in the afternoon of the same day no longer collide, so you rent the day you used to give away. Your preparation and refurbishment lead times are part of the calculation, which keeps a machine from going out before it is ready. Temporary holds expire on their own, so an unconfirmed enquiry stops freezing your fleet. And confirmation is all-or-nothing: two people confirming at the same second cannot overbook the same capacity. Pricing follows your durations, tiers and seasons, and a pricing snapshot is frozen on the contract — when you raise your rates next spring, the files already committed stay exactly as agreed. Measured performance: 1,000 fleet units and 1,000 confirmed rental files.

The module lives inside Dolibarr: 8 built-in tabs

• Product file — "Rental" tab. Makes the item rentable, sets its time unit and its minimum duration, and shows that item's rental history. Your catalogue becomes your fleet; there is no second list to keep in step.
• Third party file — "Rentals" tab. Every file for that customer, current and past. When they call, you answer without searching.
• Quote (commercial proposal) — "Rental" tab. The periods carried by the lines, with the electronic signature from the Dolibarr core, timestamped and archived. The agreement stays on the document that was priced.
• Order — "Rental" tab. The rental file backed onto the native order, with no double entry: one record for sales follow-up and for the rental dates.
• Shipment — "Rental" tab. Delivery of the equipment and its collection, visible to the crew on the shipment they are already handling.
• Warehouse — "Rental" tab. What the depot holds and what has gone out. A missing item is no longer a mystery: it is out on rent, with the file that explains it.
• User — "Rental" tab. What each driver, technician or counter clerk is responsible for, so handovers are traceable.
• Project — "Rental" tab. The files attached to a site or an event, so the equipment a job consumed shows up in that job's figures.

They are positioned automatically by the trade you chose, then adjusted one by one: preliminary quote, site or event file, delivery and collection, runs, individually identified units, meters (mileage, hours), departure and return condition reports, security deposit, damage and deductions, insurance, insurance excess, fuel and consumables, cleaning and hygiene, licences and certifications, subletting, counter till, public mini-site, shop channels.

One price, one offer: the module in its 5 languages, the 6 document templates, the 3 scheduled jobs (release expired holds, retry failed channel deliveries, check the integrity of the rental operations log), the counter that identifies an item from a scanned code (barcode, serial number), logistics and runs, the public booking mini-site, the channel layer, the REST API, and an append-only operations log with a chain of fingerprints. The two companion connectors are included at no extra cost and delivered as separate packages: WooCommerce (WordPress extension) and PrestaShop 8 (module). The module creates native Dolibarr documents — quotes, orders, projects — and shipments in draft, so nothing moves your stock behind your back. Serial numbers use Dolibarr's native lots and serials.

What it does not do

The deposit is recorded, not charged: no accounting entry is written without a justified deduction, and the module takes no card payment or pre-authorisation. Shipments stay in draft until you validate them. MariaDB 10.11 is the only database engine tested, and PHP outside 8.1 to 8.3 is not covered at runtime. The connectors are included in the price but installed on your WordPress or PrestaShop site separately.

Compatibility and prerequisites

Dolibarr 18.0.6 to 24.0.2, proven tier by tier on seven versions — 18.0.6, 19.0.4, 20.0.4, 21.0.4, 22.0.5, 23.0.4 and 24.0.2 — with 799 checks green per tier and no failure, which is what lets you install it on the Dolibarr you run today and keep it when you upgrade. PHP 8.1 to 8.3 tested at runtime. Database: MariaDB 10.11.
